Prof. Em. Sándor M. Kiss, PhD
Member, historian
He earned his degree in Education at the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University in history and Hungarian language and literature in 1967 and he was the member of the Historical Fact-finding Committee which researched the story of the fusillades under the 1956 revolution.
He earned his candidate/PhD degree in 1996 in history and he became a lecturer in 2002. He was the member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Council at the time of the Antall government. He worked as a guest lecturer at the Department of Classical Hungarian Literature at ELTE and at Eötvös Collegium. Subsequently he held the chair of the Institute of History at the Faculty of Humanities of Pázmány Péter Catholic University from 1997 to 2013. He is the member of the Board of Trustees of the Public Foundation for the Research of Central and East European History and Society and the author of several books and articles. Approaches – 1956 his latest book was published in 2011, which was presented by the House of Terror Museum.
